Labrador Breeder

What Sets Us Apart

Alley Rock Labradors is a conscientious preservation Labrador breeder who strives to produce bench bred (“English”) type Labradors for excellent health and outstanding temperament.

Allyson’s passion for animals began in early childhood with her own family pets and taking part in her local 4-H club. As she grew older Allyson took part in her High School’s vocational agriculture program specializing in animal science which led to her first job which was at a local veterinary hospital.  Allyson continued to work in the veterinary field through graduate school.

In 2009, under the mentorship of the late Christina Leno of Aquila Labradors, Allyson began raising her first Labradors with her foundation dam Aquila’s Bringing Up Baby, “Roo”. Along with Christina’s wisdom and guidance, Allyson also gained many overseas contacts, which has allowed her to import dogs from some of the best Labrador breeders in the world.

Allyson now enjoys sharing her love for the Labrador breed with her husband and three children. Alley Rock Labradors is a truly family centered breeding program in which the entire family takes part in raising and caring for their dogs. Allyson’s younger children are an important part in the puppy socialization process and her daughter, Juliana, handles the dogs when competing in dock diving and field work.

Learn More

We are a family based breeding program. Our puppies are raised in a family-oriented and enriched environment for optimal development opportunities. They are handled daily from the minute they are born until they leave for their new homes. Even our four year old child is hands on with the puppies from day one, I mention this because a toddlers touch is much different from an adult’s touch. Our adult dogs are family members, they have 1.5 acres fenced in and are not kept in kennels. If our dogs want a “job” we give them one by competing in Dock Dogs and in field work. Videos can be watched on our facebook page: Alley Rock Labradors. We follow Puppy Culture puppy development and enrichment program protocols, which include ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation.) Our puppies will be exposed to loud noises, classical music, the vacuum, a small swimming pool, bath tub, many different toys, pots & pans banging, piles of books falling off of the counter, recordings of fireworks and gunshots, a very loud toddler, cats and so much more. They will also have our other adult dogs as nannies to interact with and learn from. Weather and temperature dependent, once puppies have had their first set of puppy shots they gain a large secure outdoor puppy pen where they have a safe and enriched environment to explore and play. Even so, they are only outdoors for a few hours per day, their primary area is inside our home where they nap and sleep overnight. When the puppies turn 7 weeks of age we begin temperament testing to assist in matching puppies to their new families. Even though puppies are picked in order of our call list and/or deposit received we also match what you’re looking for in a puppy to what puppy has those temperament traits that you are seeking. We do not allow families to come over, visit, view and/or handle unvaccinated puppies. The risk is just too high for the young puppies to contract something. If we were to bring parvo onto our property it would be a catastrophe. Therefore, we keep our families up to date with pictures, videos, texts etc.
